Program Types
- Bachelor of Arts (BA): Humanities, social sciences, languages
- Bachelor of Science (BSc): Natural sciences, mathematics, computer science
- Bachelor of Commerce/Business (BCom): Business, finance, accounting
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng): Engineering disciplines
- Specialized degrees: BBA, BCS, BN (Nursing), etc.
Eligibility Requirements
- Acceptance letter from DLI university
- Proof of financial support ($10,000 + $2,000/year/dependant + tuition)
- English or French language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.)
- Academic transcripts meeting admission requirements
- No criminal record
- Good health
Language Requirements
Most universities require:
- IELTS Academic: Overall 6.5, no band less than 6.0
- TOEFL iBT: 80-100+ depending on institution
- Duolingo: 120+ (some universities)
- TEF/TCF: For French-language programs
Some universities offer conditional admission with pathway programs if language scores are slightly below requirements.
Work While Studying
Off-Campus: Up to 24 hours/week during semesters, full-time during scheduled breaks (policy as of Nov 2024)
On-Campus: Unlimited hours at your university
Co-op/Internship: Many programs include work terms; separate co-op work permit required
Post-Graduation Work Permit
Bachelor's degree programs (4 years) qualify for:
- 3-year PGWP (maximum available)
- No field of study restrictions for degree programs
- Must graduate from eligible DLI
- Must apply within 180 days of graduation

- Tuition: $20,000-$40,000/year (varies by program and province)
- Accommodation: $10,000-$15,000/year
- Health insurance: $600-$1,000/year
- Books and supplies: $1,000-$2,000/year
- Transportation: $1,000-$2,500/year
- Personal expenses: $5,000-$7,000/year
Total estimated: $37,600-$67,500/year

Application Timeline
