AAIP Streams

1. Express Entry Stream

2. Alberta Opportunity Stream

For workers currently employed full-time in Alberta with a valid job offer in an eligible occupation.

  • Current full-time employment in Alberta
  • Valid work permit (if applicable)
  • At least 12 months of work experience in Alberta in the past 18 months
  • Occupation classified as TEER 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 under NOC 2021
  • Full-time permanent job offer from Alberta employer
  • Language proficiency: CLB 4 minimum (TEER 0/1 may require CLB 5+)

3. Rural Renewal Stream

For workers with a permanent job offer from a designated Alberta community outside major cities.

  • Job offer from employer in designated rural community
  • Employer endorsement from community
  • Work experience in occupation or related field
  • Community-specific requirements may apply

4. Accelerated Tech Pathway

Priority processing for tech occupations supporting Alberta's technology sector growth.

  • Work experience in designated tech occupations (software engineers, data scientists, etc.)
  • Job offer from Alberta tech employer
  • Faster processing: 2-3 months for provincial stage
  • Available through Express Entry or Opportunity streams

Application Process

  1. Determine Eligibility: Review stream requirements and assess qualifications
